On 25.11.2019 the Master Workshop at the Institute for Factory Automation and Production Systems for the participating companies of the MEJOIN (Mechatronics Joint Initiative) project started into three interesting and instructive days. By the first physical meeting of the parties involved in the project, an important milestone was reached.
In addition to the presentations of the individual companies, the participating institutions, namely FAPS, Saitama University, the Cluster Mechatronics and Automation, and the Saitama City Foundation, were also presented in detail. Two informative workshops on the topics „Artificial Intelligence in Medical Technology“ and „Artificial Intelligence in Production“ provided participants with an understanding of the basic concepts of artificial intelligence and current research results of the FAPS.
The second day of the Master Workshop offered the participants an all-day visit to the SPS Drives trade fair to establish important contacts with other companies in the relevant industries. The main aim was to evaluate trends in the areas of robotics, production automation, and predictive maintenance and to discuss important products in their own companies subsequently.
The third day of the workshop offered the opportunity to have stimulating discussions for the further process of the MEJOIN project. The procedure for the next months was defined and the individual wishes of the participants were considered in the various work packages.
